Rememberance Day<3

My Grandpa (a world war veritan)always says that rememberance day should be much more famous then it is. But what I wanted to know was why we celebrated on Novermber 11th and I learned that it's held on November 11 because that's when the peace treaty, called the Armistice was signed to end the First World War. Also that remembrance day was originally called Armistice Day. On rememberance day your supose to hournor the dead from the world wars. On the 11th day at the 11th hour of the 11th month for one minute to remember why we are so lucy and how all thoes people lost their lives for us to be free. The popy was the the small red flowers growing on the battlefields of France amongst the death and blood from the men who died fighting for their country. Because they bloomed on the graves we still wear poppys. So on remeberance day remeber the people that fought to set you free. Take a momement on the 11th day of the 11th month at the 11th hour and remeber, Never forget them because there still important and there all hero's. Lest We Forget.

In Flanders fields the poppies blow
Between the crosses, row on row,
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved, and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders Fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders Fields.

- John McCrae
